Zampedri is one of the brightest talents to emerge from international Karting. Formula Alfa Boxer Champion in 1989, was his launch into a Professional race car driver career.
F.3 and F. 3000 in the early ninetees with a best finish 3rd at the Nuburgring G.P. was a natural progression into the international scene. In 1994 Alex was the first young driver from F.3000 to move into the Indycar Championship, in which he compete for the 1995, 1996, 1997 seasons.
The Highlight of his USA adventure was the 4th place at the 1996 Indianapolis 500, after a terrif crash in the last lap of the race. A short appeareance into the Trans - Am Championship in 1998 was the first step into GT racing.
In 1999 moved back to Europe, Alex entered the Porsche Supercup, the "fastest one make series in the world".
His seventh year in the Porsche Cup was the most successful of a career, that led him across the formula-racing in his home country up to the Indycars to the United States, to be the 2005 Porsche Michelin Supercup Champion.
